Kelly Sandals
August 3, 2008
Just released: sculpted flat sandals in 16 colors, accessibly priced at L$200 a pair. I spent less time than usual obsessing over their construction because I wanted to offer them at a lower price. Somehow I managed to succeed; I only spent 6 days on them, not counting the 8 days spent on 2 designs I discarded before coming up with these. It’s typical for my designs to evolve a lot, but I try to see it as a learning process rather than a waste of time.
Two pairs are included, for size 0 and size 10 feet. Permissions: copy/no transfer/no modify.
Clothes and hair: Aoharu; skin: Gala; accessories: me

Belles
July 12, 2008
I’m debuting these at the SL Footwear Expo which starts today. I’ve also made a free set of matching thigh-high stockings. During the expo, 20% of the proceeds will go to the ASPCA. They won’t be available in my main shop or at shop.onrez.com until after the expo on July 28; I want to drive people to the expo to shop for charity.

L$350 per pair
2 pairs included, for size 0 and size 10 feet

Here’s where to find them: Shiny Things at Footwear Expo

Plainers
June 24, 2008
A few people requested these shoes, and now here they are. The name is a dumb pun – they’re like my Skyliners, only plainer, plus it’s “plains” instead of a skyline on the front.
Available in 12 colors
2 pairs included – for size 0 and size 10 feet
L$300 per pair
copy/no transfer/no modify
Shirt: elDee; capris: Launa Fauna; glasses: Naughty Designs; hair: Mirai; skin: Fleur; belt: work in progress by me. Thanks again to Ally Geer, my stylist!

Big new jewelry collection
June 12, 2008
Here’s the Florina Collection:

There are 11 pieces to mix and match, in gold or silver. They also tint well (if you don’t use face lights. I assume face lights would wash out the tint, but I haven’t tried it.) I happen to love copper jewelry and have done a nice copper tint for my own use. Alas, copper is not popular so I’m not selling a copper texture version. The pictures have a sort of dressy gypsy look, but the jewelry can be dressed down really well too.
I’ve traditionally avoided using shiny and especially bump map in texture settings for jewelry, but I changed my mind for this set. I think Windlight has improved the appearance of shininess, and, surprisingly, bump mapping on ‘darkness’ setting gave the textures some nice depth. This does mean that the jewelry won’t look its best to people who don’t have shiny and bump map turned on in graphics preferences. Does anyone still have that turned off?
Sculpties are used sparingly; there’s only one sculpt map, for the pyramidal dangly bits.

Prices: L$50-L$150 per item; or L$900 for complete silver or gold sets (10% off single item price).
Permissions in-world: Modify/transfer/no copy. Permissions online: Modify/copy/no transfer.

Skyliners
May 23, 2008
Has it really been a month since my last release? I did take a much-needed break recently, but a month is a long time in SL. Anyway I’ve finally released Skyliners, heels that you wouldn’t find in RL. It was fun to do something a little different, a cartoonish little city skyline on a shoe.
Thanks to Ally Geer, my new stylist! I’ve employed her to find outfits for my shop displays — it’s something that can be very time-consuming for me, so I’m thrilled to have Ally, a fashionista with great taste, do it for me. She put together the below ensemble. I added the necklace, which I hope to release soon.

Supernovas
April 23, 2008
It took me ages to finish these because I spent so much time fiddling at each phase: shape, proportion, fit, texture design, and coloring. When it came to coloring, I decided that some colors looked too flat so I added a subtle gradient to the heel. The sunset color carries a color gradient through the straps. I’m not sure: is it nice or tacky?

The fine detail doesn’t show well here (it’s supposed to be subtle, after all!), especially in the smaller pictures, but I think it still makes the overall look more finished and polished. Here’s a closeup:

And I have to give props to Windlight. It brings out the curves of the heel very nicely, so heavy baked in shadowing isn’t needed. Subtlety is my watchword of the moment.

Sculpted cork wedges
April 6, 2008
It’s been too long since I released a new style. These are called Brandys, named after my 18 year old cat because the name sort of suits the vibe of the shoes, and I couldn’t think of anything else. (What does it say about me that I’ve never named any shoes after humans, only cats?)
This release includes pairs for size 0 and size 10 feet. I’ve decided to do that from now on when it’s feasible. I’d been doing it with most flat shoes but will be doing heels from now on too. Boots may be too much work; I’ll decide that when I get to it.

Special edition shoes for charity
March 17, 2008
I’m selling a specially textured edition of Francoise Flats exclusively for the benefit of Relay for Life of Second Life. They’ll be available until the end of RFLSL 2008, which I think is at the end of July. They’re at my main shop (and not, in case anyone goes there looking for them, at the RFL Clothing Fair).
L$300 (minimum donation to receive a pair of shoes)
2 sizes included
copy/no modify/no transfer
store cards can’t be used for these, sorry.
here are all the colors:

I’m in the midst of reworking all my shop displays and haven’t come up with a good blog presentation for them yet. Those pictures will do for now!
